Joniškis Cultural Center is a juridical entity which in its activities, reserves ethnic culture, amateur art, creates aesthetic curriculum programs, expands enlightened (educational) enterprise, fulfills communal cultural demands as well, organizes professional art circulate.
The Cultural Center operates under the set regulations that were primarily registered in 2018 June 5th in Register of Legal Entities and later on, in 2018 May 17, and approved by Joniškis District Municipality's decision under the no. T-118.
Joniškis Cultural Center executes various activities in Joniškis city also in ten divisions of Joniškis district: Gataučiai, Kriukai, Skaistgiris, Jakiškės, Kirnaičiai, Lieporai, Maldeniai, Rudiškiai, Satkūnai, Bariūnai.
Joniškis House of Culture, as an institution, was established in 1948. For more than two decades, the Cultural Center has been working in different locations that was not quite suitable for organizing events.
In 1970, the building of the Cultural Center was established, which is administering up to this day.
Joniškis Cultural Center has 4 halls that technically adjusted for types of cultural events: the grand hall (stage, 500 seats) also 3 assembly halls adapted, specifically for exhibitions there is a second-floor hall (a limited stage, 100 seats), the lobby „Po Palme” (80 seats), rehearsal hall (50 seats) and two makeup rooms.
Since 2013, near the Cultural Center‘s building, there is an outdoor scene (with four auxiliary rooms) and 400 seats.
